My 3rd attempt at Pen and Watercolor from my Maine Vacation photos. The photo was taken in Somesville, MDI. I loved the pile of red, white and black buoys.

We vacation every summer on MDI - love the whole region and wished we lived there (yes I do know what the winters are like :-) You captured a great snippet of it here - Welcome to EDM, and keep posting - whether you trace or not - different strokes to different folks
Thanks Sandy!
I absolutely loved MDI, even though it was foggy every day but one.
Welcome to EDM. Your watercolors are lovely! I am trying to learn watercolor painting too. I look forward to your future posts :)
Wow - I absolutely CANNOT believe you've just begun this journey of ink and wash!! You are doing fabulously well, excellent compositions, wonderful mixes (those varieties of greens are especially nice)and you aren't afraid of color (most people are at first and paint much too light). You also have nice value changes!! I'm sure being a photographer is going to benefit you lots. Btw, I'm going to take my FIRST photography class beginning mid Aug.
Welcome to EDM!! You are going to find wonderful inspiration and encouragement and I notice from your bloglines that you've already added many of my friends and mentors.
Thanks Ann! Your art is gorgeous!
Thanks Brenda! I've been trying to teach myself watercolors off and on for the past 2 years (mostly off, lol). I just bought my first set of ink pens a few weeks ago. I think being a photographer for 20+ years has helped me with color and composition. Just holler if I can be of any assistance with your photography classes.
This is a great topic for a little watercolour sketch.
Your photos are incredible!!! Those close-ups!!! Make me melt -- like diving into the flowers!~!! And I LOVE yoru pen and washes!!! Vibrant, spontaneous !!!! This one in particular caught my eye -- I love the red in the buoys against the blue ...
This is so Maine! Wonderful job. It brings back so many wonderful memories. Maine is my favorite state, right behind Arizona :)
Thanks y'all!
